COLORADO FIRST LADY OPENS UP GOVERNOR'S RESIDENCE FOR 'PINTS & BITES'
Preservation Fund event pairs food and craft beer, and convenes farmers, brewers and chefs

First Lady Jeannie Ritter hosted a collection of Colorado brewers and chefs at the Governor's Residence, and showcased food from several Colorado farms at the first "Pints & Bites." With more than 200 patrons in attendance, the event featured 30 different beers from 15 Colorado breweries, paired with 23 menu items using food from 5 Colorado farms, and all prepared by 17 chefs from the Culinary School of the Rockies.

"What a fun and important event this turned out to be," said the First Lady. "Not only did we raise important funds for preserving this magnificent facility, but we also showcased some of what Colorado has to offer in the way of breweries and farms."

In addition to food and craft beer pairings, the event also had live entertainment by the Hillbilly Hellcats Band, and chef and brewer presentations. With the 100 year old Beottcher Mansion as the backdrop, the unique event is part of the First Lady's ongoing mission to preserve the Governor's Residence and provide broader access to what she calls, "Colorado's Home."

"The Governor and I inherited this place in such great shape," the First Lady further noted. "So we really feel like it's our duty to establish a sustainable revenue source for it, and just open the doors of the place so that we can expose it to as many people from around the state as possible."

The event was a collaboration between the Governor's Residence Preservation, The Colorado Brewers Guild, and the Culinary School of the Rockies.

"The Colorado Brewers Guild was so very pleased to be partnering with the Governor's Residence and the Culinary School of the Rockies to showcase the great and diverse beers that are brewed in our great state," said Kris Oyler, board member of the Colorado Brewers Guild.

"It's an honor to be celebrating craft beer and food in this historic building," said Lead Chef Adam Dolye of the Culinary School of the Rockies. "We are so proud to share our farm-to-table philosophy with the people of Colorado. This event has brought together local and small independent businesses, including a culinary school, farmers, brewers, chefs, and students--all of whom make this state thrive."
