State Innovation Models (SIM) Grant
On September 24, Colorado submitted a proposal for the SIM funding opportunity. The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) plans to select up to five states to receive $20-60 million in Model Testing funds by mid-December. To prepare its proposal, Colorado engaged over 100 stakeholders through four workgroups in August and September. The resulting project narrative, the central component of our proposal, is provided below. Please email SIMGrant@state.co.us with any questions you may have while we await a decision.

Colorado Health Benefit Exchange (COHBE)
The Affordable Care Act empowers each state to create an Exchange, an online marketplace where small businesses and individuals can easily compare and purchase health insurance. The state legislature created the Colorado Health Benefit Exchange (COHBE) in 2011 as a nonprofit organization governed by an independent Board of Directors.
As it plans to open for business by January 2014, the Exchange welcomes your input. Meetings held by the Exchange’s Board of Directors, Board Committees, and Advisory Groups are open to the public and offer teleconference capabilities. The Board of Directors typically meets the second and fourth Monday of each month. More information about the Exchange’s meeting schedules can be found here.
