GOV. RITTER APPOINTS FOUR MEMBERS TO HIGH-PERFORMANCE TRANSPORTATION ENTERPRISE

Gov. Bill Ritter announced today the appointment of four members to the High-Performance Transportation Enterprise, which was created by this year's FASTER legislation. The four appointees represent four geographic areas: Denver Metro, Pikes Peak, North Front Range, and I-70 Corridor.

The appointees are:

  • Charlotte R. Robinson of Denver
  • Durand "Dan" E. Cleveland of Colorado Springs
  • Stan Matsunaka of Loveland
  • Timothy J. Gagen of Breckenridge

The four new members join three Colorado Transportation Commission members who were named to the enterprise earlier this month: Doug Aden, Heather Barry and Michael Cheroutes.

Each appointee has expertise in transportation planning or development, local government, design-build contracting, public or private finance, engineering and environmental issues.

The High-Performance Transportation Enterprise will work to find innovative financing and contracting and public-private partnerships to help complete transportation projects that will improve the safety, capacity and accessibility of Colorado's transportation system.

Gov. Ritter signed Senate Bill 09-108, also known as FASTER (Funding Advancements for Surface Transportation and Economic Recovery), into law in March. FASTER will save and create thousands of jobs, strengthen Colorado's economy and allow the state to repair unsafe bridges and roadways all across Colorado.
