Gov. Hickenlooper announces Boards and Commissions Appointments

DENVER — Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 — Gov. John Hickenlooper announced several Boards and Commissions appointments today. The appointments were to the Early Child Leadership Commission and the Public Employees’ Retirement Benefit Plans (PERA) Board of Trustees.

The Early Childhood Leadership Commission seeks to improve outcomes for young children ages birth to 8 and their families by advancing the alignment, coordination and efficiency of programs and services. Colorado’s network of 30 local early childhood councils serves 55 counties by collaboratively planning, networking, developing resources and implementing early childhood initiatives within communities.The member appointed for a term expiring at the pleasure of the Governor:

• Sheila Marie Groneman of Silverthorne, to serve as the Director of the Head Start State Collaboration in the Office of Lieutenant Governor, and occasioned by the resignation of Heather L. Tritten of Denver.

The Public Employees’ Retirement Benefit Plans (PERA) Board of Trustees manages the retirement funds for public employees. The member appointed for a term expiring July 10, 2016:

• Charles John Farrell of Golden, to serve as a representative with experience and competence in investment, management, finance, banking, economics, accounting, pension administration, or actuarial analysis, and as an Unaffiliated.
