Gov. Hickenlooper announces Boards and Commissions Appointments

DENVER — Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 — Gov. John Hickenlooper announced several Boards and Commissions appointments today. The appointments were to the Board of Real Estate Appraisers; the Council of Advisors on Consumer Credit; the Mental Health Advisory Board for Service Standards and Regulations; the School Safety Resource Center Advisory Board; and the State Board of Veterinary Medicine.

The Board of Real Estate Appraisers sets fees for those seeking a real estate appraisers license, administers tests and disciplines licensees for misconduct.The appointments must be confirmed by the Colorado Senate. The member appointed for a term expiring July 1, 2014:

Deane Davenport of Arvada, to serve as an officer or employee of a commercial bank experienced in real estate lending and occasioned by the resignation of Deborah K. Delaney of Fort Collins.

The member appointed for a term expiring July 1, 2015:

Wayne L. Hunsperger of Englewood, to serve as a real estate appraiser, reappointed.

The Council of Advisors on Consumer Credit advises and consults with the assistant attorney general concerning the Attorney General’s powers under the consumer credit code. The members appointed for terms expiring Sept. 30, 2015:

Tammy Sue Campbell of Denver, to serve as a representative of the consumer credit industry, reappointed.
Mark Eastman Lyda of Denver, to serve as a member of the public.
Mark A. Wild of Elbert, to serve as a representative of the consumer credit industry.

The Mental Health Advisory Board for Service Standards and Regulations recommends standards and regulations for the programs of mental health services in any healthcare facility that has separate facilities for mental health care, or those health care facilities that have as their only purpose the treatment and care of mental illness. The members appointed for terms expiring July 1, 2014:

Jerrod D. McCoy of Greeley, to serve as a representative for the Colorado Department of Human Services, reappointed.
Birgit Maria Fisher of Pueblo, to serve as a representative of proprietary skilled healthcare facilities.

The members appointed for terms expiring July 1, 2015:

Brenda Bea Fabian of Thornton, to serve as a representative of the public or private sector, reappointed.
Virginia Byrnes Horton of Greenwood Village, to serve as a representative of the Colorado Bar Association.
Sheila M. Aiken of Aurora, a representative of children’s healthcare facilities.

The members appointed for terms expiring July 1, 2016:

Stephen Alan Robertson of Pueblo, to serve as a representative of the public or private sector, reappointed.
Charles Roger Oppegard of Denver, to serve as a professional psychiatrist.
Michelle Renee Randall-Garcia of Pueblo, to serve as a representative of the public or private sector.

The members appointed to serve at the pleasure of the Governor:

Lori A. Banks of Aurora, to serve as a representative of the Colorado Department of Human Services and as a non-voting ex-officio member.

The School Safety Resource Center Advisory Board advises and recommends policies concerning the newly-created School Safety Resource Center. The center was created “to assist schools in preventing, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and crisis situations and to foster positive learning environments.” The members appointed for terms expiring Aug. 15, 2014:

Kay Trotter of Aurora, to serve as a member of a parents’ organization.
Stan Garnett of Boulder, to serve as a District Attorney.

The State Board of Veterinary Medicine conducts professional examinations and grants licenses for veterinarians. The member appointed for a term expiring June 30, 2016:

Nancy A. Strelau of Conifer, to serve as a consumer.
