Gov. Hickenlooper announces Boards and Commission appointments

DENVER — Friday, July 6, 2012 — Gov. John Hickenlooper announced several Board and Commission appointments today. The appointments were to the Statewide Internet Portal Authority; the State Board of Parole; the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board; the Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators; the Hospital Provider Fee Oversight and Advisory Board and the Board of Trustees for the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind.

 

The Statewide Internet Portal Authority develops the officially recognized statewide internet portal that provides one-stop access to electronic information, products and services to give members of the public an alternative way to transact business with the state. The appointment must be confirmed by the Colorado Senate. The member appointed for a term expiring June 1, 2016 is:

• Jack R. Arrowsmith of Highlands Ranch, to serve as a representative of local government, reappointed.

 

The State Board of Parole holds hearings and considers applications for parole, and conducts all proceedings involving revocation of parole. The appointment must be confirmed by the Colorado Senate. The member appointed for a term expiring July 1, 2015 is:

• John M. O’Dell of Loveland, to serve as a law enforcement representative, reappointed.

 

The Motor Vehicle Dealer Board licenses and regulates motor vehicle dealers and salespersons. It also works to resolve consumer complaints about dealers, holds hearings and orders corrective action. The members appointed for terms expiring June 30, 2015 are:

• John Joseph Schenden of Cherry Hills Village, a licensed motor vehicle dealer.
• Stan D. Martin of Morrison, a licensed used motor vehicle dealer.
• Chris D. Hefty of Loveland, a member of the public-at-large who does not have a present or past financial interest in a motor vehicle dealership.

 

The Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators licenses nursing home operators and may conduct hearings to revoke, suspend, deny or reissue licenses. The members appointed for terms expiring July 1, 2016 are:

• Andrea Nicole Hansen of Wheat Ridge, to serve as a member of the public-at-large, reappointed.
• Judith A. Brandt of Littleton, a member of the public-at-large, reappointed.

 

The Hospital Provider Fee Oversight and Advisory Board is responsible for working with the Department of Healthcare Policy and Financing and the Medical Services Board to develop the hospital provider fee model, monitor implementation of the Colorado Health Care Affordability Act, help with preparation of annual reports on this program, and ensure that the Medicaid and CHP+ eligibility expansions are implemented as intended. The appointment must be confirmed by the Colorado Senate. The member appointed for a term expiring May 15, 2016 is:

• George Montgomery O’Brien of Pueblo, a person with a disability, who is living with a disability, and who is not a representative or an employee of a hospital, health insurance carrier, or other health care industry entity.

 

The Board of Trustees for the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind advises and consults with the Commissioner of Education regarding the management of the school and the education of its students. The appointments must be confirmed by the Colorado Senate. The member appointed for a term expiring July 1, 2014 is:

• John C. Dickinson of Longmont, a Democrat, reappointed.

 

The member appointed for a term expiring July 1, 2015 is:

• David Dawson of Boulder, a Democrat, reappointed.

 

The members appointed for terms expiring July 1, 2016 are:

• Andy McElhany of Colorado Springs, a Republican.
• Linda Sue Williams of Golden, a Democrat.
