DENVER — Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 — Gov. John Hickenlooper announced today he is seeking candidates to fill the vacancy on the University of Colorado Board of Regents created by the resignation of Monisha Merchant. The person appointed shall hold office until the next general election (2012) and until a successor is elected.

Interested applicants must be residents of the 7th Congressional District and be registered as either a Democrat or Unaffiliated voter. The Colorado Constitution states that the governor shall fill vacancies on the Board of Regents.
