Gov. Hickenlooper appoints CSU System Board of Governors

Thursday, April 14, 2011 -- Gov. John Hickenlooper today announced appointments to the Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System.

The Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System oversees both Colorado State University and Colorado State University at Pueblo. The Board selects the presidents of these institutions, including determination of salaries and tuition, conferring degrees and carrying out other legal functions.

The appointments are dependent upon Senate confirmation. The members appointed are:

• Dennis E. Flores of Pueblo, to serve an appointment to expire December 31, 2014. Flores is an alumnus of the Colorado State University at Pueblo, formerly known as the University of Southern Colorado. Flores is an insurance executive and is a member of the Latino Chamber Development Corporation.
• Penfield W. Tate of Denver, to serve an appointment to expire December 31, 2014. Tate is an alumnus of Colorado State University. Tate is a shareholder of Greenberg Traurig, LLP and serves on the Board of the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce.
