Creating Individual Performance Objectives for Safety

 

Supervisors can help ensure a safe workplace by adding safety performance objectives to an employee's performance plan.  Supervisors should:

 

  • Set meaningful, attainable expectations aligned with the safety goals of the department
  • Be clear about employee expectation, and explain any measurement used
  • Work with the employee to create performance objectives and ask for their ideas, input and feedback regularly. Remember, you can adjust performance objectives as needed.
