Richard Lee
Capitol Complex Property Manager
Joining the State in 2005 after 25 years at Rocky Flats as a stationary operating (HVAC) engineer, Richard "Rick" Lee served as Energy Manager until July 2009, when he was appointed to his current position of Property Manager. Providing oversight and leadership to a staff of over 50, Rick is now responsible for the daily management of over 1.8 million square feet of real estate in 18 State-owned buildings. In his previous role with Capitol Complex, Rick was instrumental in implementing and managing several key greening initiatives including energy-related performance contracting and obtaining Leadership in Energy Design (LEED) certification for a number of buildings, including the State Capitol Building (a national first).
A native of Massachusetts, Rick has lived in Colorado since 1968 and is a veteran of the United States Navy. In his personal life, Rick enjoys downhill mountain biking, scuba diving, and backcountry skiing.
