Qualifying real estate appraisal courses must be at least 15 hours long including an examination The course and the provider must be approved by the Board. The Board does not endorse any particular provider or course of study. It is the licensees responsibility to contact providers directly for current approved offerings. All Colorado appraisers must complete 42 hours of continuation education in the three year period prior to the expiration of their licence. This must include at least 7 hours of USPAP update taken every other year and taught by an AQB certified Instructor. Licensees must maintain certificates of completion for a minimum of four years. Do not send certificates of completion to the Division unless requested to do so. Continuing education can not be used to satisfy qualifying education requirements for licensure. Proposed Revisions to the Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria (Criteria) have been adopted by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB). The Criteria, which were adopted at the December 2011 meeting of the AQB, will be effective on January 1, 2015.
