The purpose of the Planning & Zoning department is to: |

Conserve and stabilize the value of property |

Aid in rendering of police and fire protection |
|||
|
Provide adequate open space for light, air, and aesthetic satisfaction |
|||
|
Preclude congestion on streets, roads, and highways |
|||
|
Facilitate orderly, efficient, and integrated development of the county |
|||
|
Prevent undue concentration of population |

| Facilitate the provision of efficient systems, transportation, schools, parks, and other public requirements | |||

Planning and Zoning Forms
Projects that increase the size of a structure and cost $1,000 or more to complete require an approved building permit
Conditional Use Permit Application
Required to receive Board of County Commissioners’ approval to permit a conditional use or modification of an existing conditional use
Required to receive Board of County Commissioners’ approval to permit a conditional use for any of the above
Subdivision Exemption Application
State law requires any division of land creating a parcel of less than 35 (parcel must be at least 2.5 acres) to be platted and go through the subdivision process
Required to receive a variance from zoning resolution requirements
Required when seeking a change in the current zoning classification
