Ongoing and Seasonal Events

The Moffat County Libraries offer a number of free programs throughout the year: 


  • Story Time - Story times for children are hosted every week at the Craig and Dinosaur branches.
  • Summer Reading Progam - Each summer, adults and children can participate in the Summer Reading Program.
  • Winter Reading Program - Each winter, adults and children can participate in the Winter Reading Program. 
  • Youth Club - Youth Club is held Wednesdays at the Craig branch during the summer.
  • Ready-Set-Read - A spring/fall reading program for birth to 5th grade.
  • 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten - An ongoing reading program for you and your young child.
  • Baby Book Bags - Parents of new babies can pick up a complimentary bag, which includes a free book and early literacy information.
  • Dolly Parton's Imagination Library - Children ages 0-5 get a free book in the mail every month.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest



Craig: Oct. 28 - Nov. 1
Maybell: Oct. 27 - Oct. 31
Dinosaur: Oct. 27 - Oct. 30


  • Bring your decorated pumpkin, squash or gourd to the library, where it will remain on display.
  • All ages are welcome to participate.
  • Be creative, but please keep it “family friendly” (nothing scary).
  • If your pumpkin is carved, it must last all five days—if it starts to go bad it will be thrown away.
  • Please pick up your pumpkin by noon on Saturday—remaining entries will be discarded.




"Ready-Set-Read" Challenge



For birth to 5th grade: The "Ready-Set-Read" challenge is happening this fall, Sept. 1 - Nov. 30, 2014. Check out the "Ready-Set-Read" page for more information!

Library patrons can now access the  EBSCO reference and research databases from home. Types of resources Include:
