Our ability to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAI) has improved significantly. Below are resources for both healthcare providers and consumers to learn more about HAI prevention. |
|
In an effort to eliminate healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), the Department of Health and Human Serivces (HHS) has developed an action plan with five-year prevention targets. CDPHE received HHS funding to develop and implement a statewide prevention collaborative focused on preventing (HAIs). In doing so, the collaborative is expected to implement multicenter, evidence-based HAI prevention initiatives. CDPHE has contracted with the Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) to implement the Prevention Collaborative. Between January 2010 and December 31, 2011, CHA provided technical support, education and resources to participating healthcare facilities to address two HHS Action Plan prevention targets; surgical site infections and Clostridium difficile. To receive more information about the Collaborative, please contact CHA’s Crystal Berumen at crystal.berumen@cha.com, 720-330-6067 or CDPHE’s Tamara Hoxworth at tamara.hoxworth@state.co.us, 303-692-2930.
