National Regional Radiological Planning Effort

Communication, collaboration, coordination, and consultation are the keys to effective planning at a local, state, regional, and national level. Regional planning for the shipment of nuclear waste began in the western United States and has spread across the nation. WIPP Safe Transportation: A Model Framework details the process beginning and demonstrates the effectiveness of a collaborative approach to meeting the needs of the diverse stakeholders.
