Membership includes representation from local and state offices of emergency management, Veterans Administration Hospital, the Colorado Hospital Association, Rocky Mountain Poison Control Center, the Division of Mental Health and a number of local hospitals. The mission of the committee is to sustain and enhance the preparedness of the Colorado healthcare entities to respond to mass casualty incidents that overwhelm community resources. The role is to assist the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Hospital Preparedness Program in their missions with expert advice and to advise on assessment gaps for allocation of grant funding.
