The Colorado Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) resides within the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The Colorado HPP provides leadership and funding through grants and cooperative agreements to States, territories, and eligible municipalities to improve surge capacity and enhance community and hospital preparedness for public health emergencies. In July 2010, states, territories, and large metropolitan areas received HPP grants totaling $390.5 million to help hospitals and other health care organizations strengthen the medical surge capability across the nation. |

HPP Program funding supports:
The program is managed the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, (ASPR) which provides programmatic oversight and works with its partners in State, territorial, and municipal government to ensure that the program’s goals are met or exceeded.
