Waste Tire Market Development Fund

 

The Waste Tire Market Development Fund was established to encourage waste tire market development in Colorado. 

 

Tetra Tech

Project Title: Waste Tire Market Development Plan

Award: $195,358

 

Tetra Tech was selected to create a market development plan for the state of Colorado. The goal of the project is to create a plan that will expand on and create new markets for both newly-generated and stockpiled waste tires. Over the next fiscal year, select Waste Tire Advisory Committee members will assist the department and Tetra Tech in developing this plan.

 

Tetra Tech / WTAC initial planning meeting: July 26, 2012 at 1:00pm at the CDPHE campus.

 

Tetra Tech’s Waste Tire Market Development Plan Presentation will take place at the Colorado Department of Transportation's HQ Auditorium Conference Room on May 13, 2013 from 9:00am - 11:00am. (4201 E. Arkansas Avenue, Denver, CO 80222).

South I-25 Urban Corridor Transportation Management Association

Project Title: TMA – Pilot Tire Mulch Project

Award: $24,640

 

A coalition of local governments will be piloting the use of tire-derived mulch at two intersections (I-25 & Orchard and I-25 & County Line) to determine the feasibility of using this material in place of traditional landscape material. 

 

American Tire Exchange

Project Title: Colorado Springs Display/Demonstration of Front Runner Rubber Mulch

Award: $21,664


A permanent demonstration of different types of landscape mulch for public display will be installed at the American Tire Exchange facility.
