Ammonia Reduction -- Agriculture Subcommittee

Rocky Mountain National Park

Agriculture Subcommittee

The Rocky Mountain National Park Agriculture Subcommittee seeks to reduce ammonia emissions from agricultural sources.  The subcommittee was formed in October 2006 to bring agriculture’s voice to discussions on nitrogen deposition issues facing the park. The subcommittee collaborates with the National Park Service, the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to review air quality monitoring and ammonia inventory data, to review the latest science and research, to educate and reach out to Colorado livestock and crop producers and to provide recommendations on cost effective and practicable ammonia reduction strategies for Colorado’s agricultural producers.
