The Rocky Mountain National Park Agriculture Subcommittee (RMNP Ag Subcommittee) was formed in October 2006 to bring agriculture’s voice to discussions on nitrogen deposition issues facing the park. The subcommittee collaborates with the National Park Service, the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (MOU Agencies) on approximately a quarterly basis to review air quality monitoring and ammonia inventory data, to review best management practices (BMP) science and research, to educate and provide outreach to Colorado livestock and crop producers and to provide recommendations to the MOU Agencies on cost effective and practicable ammonia reducing practices or actions for Colorado’s agricultural producers.
