Open Burning and Prescribed Fires


 Open Burning:

The open burning program generally issues permits for the burning of untreated natural wood (sticks and branches), leaves, weeds, yard waste, and slash piles. Open burns conducted under this program typically include burns that contain less than 50 piles, less than 10 acres of grass, or less than 5 acres of other vegetation. 


 Prescribed Fires:
