The Office of Economic Security is one of the executive management units within the Colorado Department of Human Services, and provides income, nutritional, and support services to those in need. The Office oversees the following programs:
Child Support Enforcement provides services which establish paternity and enforce orders for child and medical support.
Colorado Works provides Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), including financial aid, employment services, and support services for families.
Energy Assistance, LEAP (Low-Income Energy Assistance Program) provides financial assistance with heating bills.
Food Distribution works to strengthen the nutrition safety net through effective and efficient commodity food distribution to eligible individuals and families, emergency feeding programs, and the elderly.
Food & Nutrition provides monthly benefits to low-income households to buy the food needed for a nutritionally adequate diet.
Refugee Services provides support to refugees and the larger receiving community.
Vocational Rehabilitation Services provides assistance to individuals whose disabilities result in barriers to employment.
