CDHS Director Receives National Award

Julie Krow

The Colorado Department of Human Services is proud to announce that Julie Krow, director, Office of Children, Youth and Families, has received the prestigious Administration on Children, Youth and Families Commissioner’s Award.

The award honors one person from each state and U.S. territory for their significant contributions toward the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect.

Krow was recognized for her leadership implementing Governor John Hickenlooper’s Child Welfare Plans for Colorado "Keeping Kids Safe and Families Healthy."

"This national recognition for Julie shows the country what we already know here in Colorado," said Reggie Bicha, executive director, CDHS. "She is a tireless advocate for children and families and every decision she makes for the Department begins by addressing how does what we do best support children and families to thrive in Colorado. I am so proud to work with someone as dedicated as Julie. We all congratulate her for this award."

The Administration on Children, Youth and Families with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services is devoted to child maltreatment and is the nation’s leading training and technical assistance program for practitioners, policy makers, advocates and researchers.
