Helping people affected by the wildfires

As you know, multiple wildfires are burning across our state at this time. Thousands have been displaced and hundreds of our fellow Coloradans have lost their homes. Here are some ways you can help:

The Red Cross is currently operating several emergency shelters. To make a financial donation, visit the website for the American Red Cross and click on your local chapter - or call 1-800 RED CROSS.

The Salvation Army has served thousands or meals to evacuees and first responders. If you wish to help, you can donate here: https://donate.salvationarmyusa.org/intermountain/.

Care and Share Food Bank has an emergency need for canned and boxed meals, soup, cereal, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, and snacks for distribution to fire fighters, first responders, the Disaster Response Center and their partner agencies in the immediate areas of Black Forest and Canon City. For information on how to help please visit the Care and Share Food Bank website.

People interested in volunteering to help can get guidelines from HelpColoradoNow.org.

Thank you for your generosity to those in need at this difficult time.
