FDP Program Overview

Welcome to the Food Distribution Program Homepage. The Food Distribution Program (FDP) has an established partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Through this partnership, the FDP acquires a variety of USDA foods, which are gathered through price support programs, surplus removal, and direct purchases from national markets. These foods that have been acquired are then distributed through the USDA Food Distribution Programs to improve the nutritional status of children and adults. The FDP administers USDA food distribution programs for the receipt, storage, and delivery of USDA foods.

The purpose of the Food Distribution Program is:

  • To improve the nutritional quality of the diets of those participating in the program

    AND

  • To help strengthen the American agricultural market

In Colorado, the distribution of USDA Foods is administered by the Colorado Department of Human Services Food Distribution Program, located at 1575 Sherman Street, Denver, CO 80203

You can reach the FDP office directly at 303-866-5106 or toll free number at 888-467-0418.

Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
