Colorado Department of Human Services

Statewide Strategic Use Fund

The Colorado Works Statewide Strategic Use Fund (SSUF) was created with the passage of Senate Bill 08-177 in 2008. The program's funding is 100% federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds appropriated by the General Assembly, and it is intended to serve Colorado's most vulnerable families in new ways, through community investment strategies. Recommendations regarding allocations from the SSUF are made by the Colorado Works Strategic Allocation Committee (SAC) and approved by the Department's Executive Director.
