Program Information

The Marvin W. Foote Youth Services Center (MWFYSC) mission is to protect, restore and improve public safety. This is accomplished through a continuum of services and programs that: effectively supervise juvenile offenders, promote offender accountability to victims and communities and build skills and competencies of youth to become responsible citizens.

Marvin W. Foote Youth Services Center is located in Englewood, Colorado and is a 80 bed secure multi-facility serving detained youth.  MWFYSC serves clients from the Eleventh, Seventeenth and Eighteenth judicial districts. These judicial districts encompass 12 counties: Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert, Lincoln, Adams, Broomfield, Chaffee, Custer, El Paso, Fremont, Park, and Teller.

MWFYSC is a secure detention facility holding youth from ages 10 to their 18th birthday. MWFYSC uses an adaptive pro-social behavioral management philosophy which applies principles from social learning, cognitive behavioral theory (CBT) and experiential treatment philosophies. Services provided include individual therapy, medication management, individualized education, restorative community justice, life skills education, transitional services and vocational programming to name a few.

Cherry Creek School District 5 provides licensed teaching staff for detained youth in the facility. While at MWFYSC detained youth can earn credits necessary to receive a high-school diploma or obtain a General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
