Pharmacy

The Pharmacy at CMHIP is an active, vibrant department. The nature of our patient population creates perpetual challenges for our staff, regarding both psychiatric and non-psychiatric medication needs.  We are frequently confronted with drug related issues and problems on a wide spectrum. Since patient acuity is quite high, safe dosing parameters, blood level monitoring, allergy and drug interaction issues, and many other pharmacy related circumstances are dealt with on a daily basis.

Our broad spectrum of patients (adolescents, adults, geriatric, correctional inmates, drug/alcohol rehabilitation and forensic) add to the patient and illness diversity that we continually deal with.

We work in an exciting, active, challenging environment, with a terrific teamwork concept that permeates throughout our entire hospital. All staff are seriously committed to providing the most optimum care for our patients. We have two pharmacies, 10 staff members and are open for business 7 days/week, 365 days/year. We dispense approximately $4 million/year in medications and supplies, with the Nursing staff administering over 1.6 million medication doses per year.
