Program Mission & Referral Process

Our goal for the Colorado West Regional Mental Health CJCS program is to provide referred clients the mental health treatment they need. Our program provides a diagnostic evaluation, treatment recommendations, case management, and providing the client with any additional resources they may need to succeed.

Target Population

The target population for the CJCS program is adult offenders with a history or suspicion of mental illness. We work closely with the 9th Judicial Branch, Community Corrections, and Garfield County Sheriff’s Department. These agencies determine the need for a mental health evaluation and forward a referral to the Criminal Justice Clinical Specialist.

Intended Outcomes

Our intended outcome includes reducing the recidivism rate of clients with mental illnesses by providing them with treatment appropriate for them. In addition, we would like to increase safety in our community.
