Colorado State Fair Kicks Off with “98.9 Magic FM Sneak Peek”

Thursday, August 25th

PUEBLO, Colo. – The 2011 Colorado State Fair will open its gates to celebrate the 139th year as Colorado’s most popular summer attraction on Friday, August 26th, but those who enjoy thrills and great deals have an opportunity to enjoy a Sneak Peek before opening day.

“The Sneak Peek has always been a big hit with families.  It is just one more way we strive to provide a fun, family event at an affordable price,” said Chris Wiseman, Colorado State Fair general manager.

In their fifth year at the Colorado State Fair, Crabtree Amusements will feature approximately 50 rides that spin, rock, and whirl fairgoers. Gate admission is free for the Carnival Sneak Peek and unlimited ride bands will be available for only $10.

Carnival gates will be open from 5 pm-midnight during the Sneak Peek. During the fair the carnival will be open from 2 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, and noon to midnight on Saturday,  Sunday and Labor Day.

The 98.9 Magic FM Sneak Peek is followed by the grand opening of the 2011 Colorado State Fair on Friday, August 26th. This year’s Fair features free attractions, national recording stars, five nights of rodeo action, educational opportunities, agricultural exhibits, and food vendors—plus much more.

The 2011 Colorado State Fair is located at 1001 Beulah Avenue in Pueblo. Gate Admission Monday-Thursday is $7 and Friday-Sunday is $10. Children six and under accompanied by an adult are free.

Public parking lots are located west of the Fairgrounds off Prairie Avenue and south of the Fairgrounds between Mesa and Northern Avenues. A shuttle provided by Pueblo Transit operates daily during the Fair and departs from the Main Street parking structure at 110 S. Main. Shuttle parking is free and the shuttle is $1 per person, each way.

The Colorado State Fair runs from August 26 – September 5, 2011.  For more information, visit www.coloradostatefair.com.
