Wanted: Family Friendly Girl Scout Cookie Recipes in
the “Cooking with Cookies” Contest
PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado State Fair is putting the call out to junior cooks--grab your Girl Scout Cookies for the “Cooking with Cookies” contest!
Create a delicious, family-pleasing dessert, after school snack or any other dish made with Girl Scout Cookies. Whimsy is encouraged! The top three finishers win cash prizes in the amounts of $60 for first, $30 for second, and $15 for third place. All three winners will also be recognized with a certificate of participation.
The competition calls Junior Cooks, all abilities and ages up to 18, to create a recipe made with Girl Scout cookies – any variety. Recipes should be original and must be created with a minimum of two cookies per serving. Each recipe must be named and be the sole property of the entrant. Each contestant is eligible to receive two boxes of Girl Scout Cookies for use in their recipe from the nearest Girl Scout Service Center. Entries will be judged by Girl Scouts. Anyone 18 and under may enter; limit one entry per person.
The contest will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Colorado State Fair; registration is now open with an entry deadline of Thursday, August 25, 2011.
