The state noxious weed advisory committee consists of fifteen members who are appointed by the Commissioner. The members of this committee play an important role in shaping department and state policy for noxious weed management in Colorado. Its recommendations help protect the state's agricultural and natural lands, as well as landowners. The Department makes every effort to balance the interests of the committee and to ensure different geographic areas of the state are represented equally.
Terms are two years in length and appointees are limited to two full consecutive terms each. The committee meets quarterly, usually three meetings in Lakewood and one meeting elsewhere in the state. Positions becoming vacant in November include:
