They can also provide you with information regarding the specific animal health requirements of the country you are visiting. Questions regarding sample submission

 

A.

Please provide at least 2 ml of serum for serological tests. If you are requesting multiple tests only one tube with 2 ml of serum is generally necessary to handle all of your testing required.

For most of the the serological testing done here, any red top or serum seperator tube, 10 cc or less is acceptable.

If you are submitting for Scrapie Genetic Susceptibility testing only whole blood purple top tubes with EDTA are acceptable.

Although the Rocky Mountain Regional Animal Health Laboratory provides EVA sample submission forms it does not provide EVA diagnostic testing. Please send your samples to Colorado State University, 300 West Drake Road, Fort Collins CO 80523. If you have any questions regarding EVA testing please contact CSU directly at 970.297.1281

Many of the tests the Rocky Mountain Regional Animal Health Laboratory performs can be accomplished the same day provided samples are to the laboratory by 10:00 am. Same day results mean they will be finished and reported out by 4:00 pm. Some notable exceptions to this are AGID, B. ovis ELISA, Scrapie Susceptibility, Trichomonas and Culture testing. If you are in a hurry for results it is imperative you contact RMRAHL at 303.477.0049 to notify us you are bringing samples in. Failure do to so can cause delays in reporting out your samples.
