North Portal Project

The 2013 US Highway 40-North Portal Project is set to begin on August 12, 2013 and continue into November 2013.  The project will entail construction of roadway safety, drainage, and aesthetic improvements along US Highway 40 and King's Crossing Road in downtown Winter Park.  The proposed improvements will also include acceleration and deceleration lanes, additional parking spaces, new and improved sidewalks, landscaping, and a traffic signal at the US Highway 40-King's Crossing conjunction.

We ask for your patience during this time period as delays are to be expected.  For additional information regarding the North Portal Enhancement Project please click the tabs to the left of the page.  Please don't hesitate to contact us at nothportal@wpgov.com or 970-726-8081 should you have any questions. The new stoplight at King’s Crossing Road and US Highway 40 is now in operation!  This marks a momentous occasion for the Town, 25 years in the making.  We ask all motorists to be cautious in the intersection, as other motorists and pedestrians are learning how to utilize it.  The Town is very pleased to provide a safer, more efficient intersection for the travelling public.
