The Town of Ignacio is a council-manager style of government. Our Town Board is made up of six Trustees, and a Mayor, or seven in total. All of whom are elected individuals residing within Town Limits.

The Town of Ignacio is announcing a vacancy on the Board of Trustees. Anyone interested in serving as as a Trustee on the Board must file a Town of Ignacio Board or Commission Form with the Town Clerk at Town Hall by Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 5:00pm. You must be 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the Town of Ignacio for the past twelve consecutive months. An appointment may be made by the Board of Trustees at the Wednesday, September 3, 2014 meeting. The appointment will be until the next regular election on April 7, 2016. The Board of Trustees meets the first and third Wednesday of every month at 7:00p.m. Applications can be found on the Employment Opportunities page of this website or at the Town Hall at 540 Goddard Avenue.
Regular Town Board Meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of every month.
Staff reports will be presented on the meeting of the third Wednesdays.
Agendas are posted at Town Hall, this website, the Able F. Atencio Community Room, the Post Office, and the Ignacio Community Library. Occasionally, there is a need for additional meetings, these are also posted at the above locations. The agendas and approved minutes are posted on the website in a PDF format. The Town Board follows Robert's Rules of Order to maintain the flow and structure to meetings. If you are unfamiliar with Robert's Rules or would like a refresher, please check out these links, here and here. We encourage public participation in all our Board Meetings. From time to time there will be a need for a closed session for negotiations or similar. These will be noticed on the agendas per Colorado State Law and no actions (voting) can take place during these sessions. Any voting or other action must be done outside of the closed session.
If you need to speak to the Town Board, you will need to call our Town Clerk by 4PM on the Wednesday prior to the meeting to reserve a time on the Agenda.
