The Town of Estes Park Light & Power electrical rates for 2011 through 2013 became effective April 1, 2011.
To ensure continued high-quality electric service, and in accordance with the 2011-2013 Electric Rates above, 2013 rates will be adjusted as adopted during public hearings in early 2011. Electric rates will increase by 1.4 percent, plus an approximate 2.3 percent increase to pay the wholesale electric power costs, formerly called the "power rider." This percentage is passed directly to Platte River Power Authority to cover the increased cost of generating and transmitting electricity to Estes Park. A $10 minimum for electric service was established in 2011 to cover the cost of having service available at all times. The new rate will take effect January 1 and will be reflected in February bills.
