Code Compliance & Enforcement

The Community Development and Police Departments share primary responsibliity for code compliance/enforcement. We strive to obtain voluntary compliance.

Staff's goal is to attain compliance with adopted codes through education, cooperation, and enforcement to maintain a safe, healthy, and clean community. Life-safety concerns, i.e. dangerous conditions, are our highest priorty.

Two public meetings will be held March 28th & April 2, 2013. The  meetings will be professionally facilitated, and will allow residents to share opinions and ideas about what a successful code compliance program in Estes Park should look like.  For more information, see our Enhancing Code Compliance Services Brochure. Code Compliance Handout

To report a potential code violation - email code_compliance@estes.org with the following information:

• Property dddress
• Property owner contact information
• Description of issue
• Length of time of potential violation
• Prior contact with the property owner to resolve the issue
• Photos, if possible (respect private property). Do not trespass.
• Your contact information

To report a problem in person, by mail, or by fax, please print and complete the Code Compliance Request Form and submit it to the address or fax number listed on the form.  Thank you.
