TOWN OF BOW MAR – NOTICE OF MAIL BALLOT ELECTION - APRIL 1, 2014
The Town of Bow Mar will be holding a Mail Ballot Election to elect a Mayor and 6 Trustees and to determine Ballot Issue A, a property tax measure (full text is below).
Ballots will be mailed by March 17, 2014 and must be received at the Arapahoe County Administration Building. at 5334 S. Prince Street, Littleton, CO 80120 no later than 7 p.m. on 4/1/2014 to be counted.
Ballots may be dropped off at 5334 S. Prince Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. There will be a drop box outside or you may go inside to the Election office.
Candidates certified on the ballot are Richard D. Pilgrim (Mayor), and for 6 Trustee positions: Gary Guilford, Carrie McLaughlin, Merle McKittrick, Jane Carlson, Marsha Dennis and Anne Justen. You must have been a resident of Bow Mar for 22 days and a registered Bow Mar voter to participate in the election.
The April 1, 2014 will also include a vote on the following ballot issue:

SHALL THE TOWN OF BOW MAR AD VALOREM PROPERTY TAXES BE INCREASED 10 MILLS ANNUALLY FOR TEN YEARS BEGINNING IN THE YEAR 2015 FOR THE PURPOSE OF:
· DEBT-FREE, PAY-AS-YOU-GO ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDING THE REPAVING AND RESURFACING OF STREETS WITHIN THE TOWN, AND ANCILLARY COSTS AND IMPROVEMENTS RELATED TO THE REPAVING AND RESURFACING,
SUCH INCREASED MILL LEVY TO CONSIST OF THE REAUTHORIZATION OF THE CURRENT LEVY OF 4.3 MILLS THAT WILL EXPIRE AT THE END OF 2014 WITH THE RETIREMENT OF DEBT USED TO PAY FOR THE PURCHASE OF REAL PROPERTY KNOWN AS “MARY’S MEADOW”, PLUS AN ADDITIONAL 5.7 MILLS TO TOTAL 10 MILLS, SUCH AMOUNTS TO BE LEVIED ON ALL REAL PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN THE TOWN FOR A PERIOD OF 10 YEARS UNLESS AN EXTENSION IS AUTHORIZED BY VOTE OF THE PEOPLE?
The next general election will be held on November 4, 2014. Colorado voters will elect individuals for the offices of U.S. House of Representatives, Senator, and Governor plus various local positions.
