Youth Academy

The goal of the CSP Youth Academy is to assist in the development of future leaders for the state of Colorado. Focus will be on leadership development through team exercises and individual achievement. Cadets will become familiar with the basic elements of the CSP Academy through a demanding daily training schedule.
The CSP Youth Academy will be mentally and physically demanding, and will challenge all participants. The Academy is limited to forty participants selected throughout the state.

The Academy is provided at no cost to the participants. The Academy is made possible through partnerships with local community-minded businesses, organizations, and the Colorado State Patrol. |

Training Includes:
- Team Building and Leadership
- Ethics and Law Enforcement
- Introduction to Law Enforcement Driving
- Firearm Safety and Familiarization
- Police Communications Procedures
- History and Philosophy of the CSP

The Requirements:
- Applicant Requirements:
- Be at Least Sixteen (16) Years of Age by June 10, 2012
- Be a High School Junior or Senior in the Fall of 2012
- Have a Minimum GPA of 2.0
- Be a Colorado Resident
- Posses a Valid Colorado Driver's License
- Show Proof of Current Medical Insurance
- Have Doctor Certification of Ability to Participate
- Agree to a Criminal and Driver History Check
- Present Two (2) Letters of Recommendation
- Complete an Application and Local Interview
Experiences
To Apply for the 2012 CSP Youth Academy:
The date for the 2012 Youth Academy is June 10-16, 2012.
If you meet the above requirements, download the CSP Youth Academy Application,
click here, or pick up an application from your local troop office beginning the second week of January.
All applications for the 2012 Youth Academy must be returned to your local troop office no later than March 9, 2012, with two letters of recommendation. Applications received after this date will not be considered for the 2012 Youth Academy.
*Applicants who are accepted to attend the 2012 Youth Academy will be mailed a cadet packet in April.
