Based in Colorado Springs, El Pomar is one of the largest and oldest private foundations in the Rocky Mountain West with assets totaling $550 million. El Pomar contributes $25 million annually through direct grants and Community Stewardship Programs to support Colorado nonprofit organizations involved in health, human services, education, arts and humanities, and civic and community initiatives.

Grants in the funding priority area called "Community Health" seek to improve the health status of individuals and/ or communities by addressing unique community-identified health needs. Caring for Colorado funds projects that respond to community-identified health issues.

Bill Daniels' concern for the aging is traced to his relationship with his mother, Adele, who lived to be 94. His direction was to provide support for shelter, physical and mental care, and other assistance to older adults in a manner conducive to their dignity and independence. The Daniels Fund carries out Bill's vision by supporting organizations and/or programs that ensure older adults achieve maximum independence and quality of life by supporting in-home services, community engagement, and end of life / palliative care.

Rose Community Foundation was established in 1995 to help make the Greater Denver community a vibrant and healthy place to live. The Foundation concentrates its resources in five key program areas: Aging, Child and Family Development , Education, Health and Jewish Life . Grants are given in seven counties: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson.

Through grantmaking, Colorado Health Foundation seeks nonprofit partners who can help make Colorado the healthiest state in the nation by increasing access to adequate health insurance, integrating health care services and encouraging healthy eating and active living. Colorado Health funding focuses on populations whose health needs aren't being met due to income, age, race, ethnicity, geography or other reasons.  To make their vision more tangible and to guide grant selections, they have organized their grantmaking around three goals: 1) Health Coverage, 2) Health Care and 3) Healthy Living.
