Community Transportation Association - A society that now includes a growing population of seniors needs new and expanded community transportation alternatives. Communities with staggering air quality problems and ground congestion need improved public and community transportation alternatives. Areas and communities that have been abandoned or which are in decline need public and community transportation options as part of their renewal efforts. Effective public and community transportation contributes mightily to the quality of life of the people living in the cities, towns and communities in which it operates.

 

Denver Regional Mobility and Access Council (DRMAC)   serves as the coordinating council for the 9 county Denver metro area and is committed to helping develop, implement and provide guidance to the coordination of human service transportation options within the region.

 

Getting There Guide     - This guide is designed to help connect older adults with a wide range of transportation services in the Denver/Boulder metropolitan area. The Getting There Collaborative is committed to helping older adults live independently and enjoy community life for as long as possible. Transportation services are an important part of maintaining a high quality of life.

 

Colorado Association of Transit Agencies (CASTA)  - CASTA is Colorado¿s statewide trade association for transit providers, vendors, government agencies and other interested organizations. CASTA promotes the development, operation and enhancement of safe and effective public transportation by working with local, state and federal legislators; providing training; speaking for the industry to the public and media and building coalitions.

 

Easter Seals/Project Action  - Easter Seals Project ACTION is a cooperative agreement with the US Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration that promotes cooperation between the disability community and the transportation industry to increase mobility for people with disabilities. Founded 20 years ago, Project ACTION offers resources, training and technical assistance in order to make the Americans with Disabilities Act work for everyone -- everyday.

 

Federal Transit Administration (FTA)  - FTA is one of 10 modal administrations within the U.S. Department of Transportation. Headed by an Administrator who is appointed by the President of the United States, FTA administers federal funding to support a variety of locally planned, constructed, and operated public transportation systems throughout the U.S., including buses, subways, light rail, commuter rail, streetcars, monorail, passenger ferry boats, inclined railways, and people movers.

United We Ride  - United We Ride is an interagency Federal national initiative that supports States and their localities in developing coordinated human service delivery systems. In addition to State coordination grants, United We Ride provides State and local agencies a transportation-coordination and planning self-assessment tool, help along the way, technical assistance, and other resources to help their communities succeed.

 

National Center on Senior Transportation - The NCST is administered by Easter Seals Inc., in partnership with the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging. Staff are located in the Washington, D.C., offices of Easter Seals and n4a. Additional team members are The National Association of State Units on Aging (NASUA), the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA), the American Society on Aging (ASA) and the Beverly Foundation. Also guiding NCST work is a national steering committee of experts in senior transportation issues.
