Volatile Fuel Prices -- Fuel Policies and Contract Clauses: The Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) is concerned about the effect unstable fuel prices are having on community transit systems. Making allowances for fluctuating fuel prices by including fuel adjustment clauses in contracts is a form of fuel insurance that allows for an automatic increase in a contract when prices escalate. As part of our assistance with energy issues, CTAA is providing samples of fuel adjustment clauses and bidding proposals.
