Tax Offices Closed February 12 -- Furlough Day

State lawmakers and the governor have taken steps to cut spending and address Colorado's revenue shortfall. Part of the plan involves mandatory unpaid furlough days for most state employees. Friday, February 12 is a mandatory furlough day. Monday, February 15 is Presidents’ Day, a state holiday.

Please note that walk-in and telephone assistance for state taxpayers will not be available on these dates. If you have time-sensitive business with the Colorado Department of Revenue, please plan ahead. Furlough days are not considered state holidays. Tax due dates will remain the same.

  • Tax payment plan due dates of February 12 are still valid. Payments may be mailed in, postmarked on or before the due date.
  • Wage withholding "frequent filer" accounts are still expected to make their Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments on or before Thursday, February 18.
  • At our walk-in service centers, submit applications for sales or wage withholding tax accounts early the week of February 8, prior to the scheduled furlough day and the holiday, for earlier processing.
