Tax Offices Closed December 31 -- Furlough Day
Earlier this year, state lawmakers and the governor cut spending and took steps to address Colorado's revenue shortfall. Part of the plan involves mandatory unpaid furlough days for most state employees through the end of 2009. Thursday, December 31 is a mandatory furlough day. Friday, January 1 is New Year’s Day, a state holiday.
Please note that walk-in and telephone assistance for state taxpayers will not be available on these dates. If you have time-sensitive business with the Colorado Department of Revenue, please plan ahead. Furlough days are not considered state holidays. Tax due dates will remain the same.
