From this page you may access the forms necessary to file your Colorado special event sales tax license applications and returns.   The forms are custom-made for each special event. Please make sure that you select the correct form for your event. Online forms are not available for every special event. However, the available forms will continue to grow. These forms combine the special event license application and sales tax return into a single form that automatically calculates sales tax, penalties, interest, vendor fees, and license fees.

Instructions

The top half of the form is the license application.  Please fill it out completely.  Several fields have already been filled out for you. Use the Tab key on your computer to move from field to field. When you reach the drop down list for license type, select the appropriate choice.  The form will then add the appropriate license fee (if any) to your total.  Please make sure that you include any current or past special event license number you may have had. We will try to use the same account number. If you think you have a special event number, please call (303) 866-5643 and we will try to find it for you.

Once the application portion of the form is complete the only additional information required is your gross sales and any sales to other licensed dealers. By using the Tab key you will automatically get to these sections of the form. Please be sure to review your form for complete and accurate information.

The form will calculate all required sales taxes (along with vendor's fees, penalties and interest as appropriate) and add in the license fee. The total will be displayed in the grey box at the bottom right-hand corner of the form.  Write your check or money order for this amount.  Please do not send cash.

Print the form and sign the signature box (the other grey box). Then mail the form and payment to:

Important

The special event forms use the date on your computer to calculate penalties, interest, and vendor's fees.  Make sure the system date on your computer is accurate.
