License

Sales Tax License      A sales tax license is proof that a business is properly registered with the Colorado Department of Revenue. If your business will be selling, renting or leasing tangible personal property, you must obtain a license from the Colorado Department of Revenue.

You are also required to collect and remit sales tax to the Colorado Department of Revenue. If you have more than one location where sales are made a separate license is required for each location. All licenses must be displayed at a business location and may not be used to obtain personal goods or business assets tax-free.

If you need to confirm whether a Colorado sales tax license or exemption certificate is valid, please see our Sales Tax Verification System.
