Our mission is to provide exceptional service in an effective and innovative manner that instills public confidence while fulfilling our duties to collect revenues, responsibly license and regulate qualified persons and entities, increase productivity, and assure the vigorous and fair enforcement of the laws of Colorado.

 

The Executive Director  is the chief authority of the State and the advisor to the Governor and the General Assembly in regard to the collection of taxes, the administration of the motor vehicle, lottery, gaming, racing, and port of entry functions, the enforcement of the taxing and licensing laws, including liquor enforcement, and the direction and policies of all other functions located in the Department of Revenue.

 

Internally, the Executive Director  and her assistant provide the necessary interpretation, administration, and implementation of the laws described above to the various departmental divisions, as well as communicate the Department's policies and procedures to employees.

 

The Executive Director's Office also includes a Citizen's Advocate who assists citizens with problems or inquiries and a Legislative Liaison/Public Information Officer  who is responsible for coordinating all legislative matters for the Department as well as making certain that the Department provides consistent, reliable and accurate information to the public and to the media in the areas of taxation, motor vehicle, and enforcement.
