Change of Address or Name

To change your ADDRESS, you do not have to come to a Driver's License office or buy a new document. You may do any of the following:

 

1) Click here to change your address on-line. You can then print your own label (for example, a return address label) with your new address and attach it to the back of your license or ID card.

 

2)  Download and print the change of address form (DR2285) from the state's website. Complete the form and drop it in the mail or deliver to a driver's license office. You can then print your own label (for example, a return address label) with your new address and attach it to the back of your license or ID card.

 

OR

 

3)  Pick up a change of address form at a driver's license office. Give the completed form to a driver's license employee. You can then print your own label (for example, a return address label) with your new address and attach it to the back of your license or ID card.

 

To change your NAME, you must come in to a Driver License Office and bring documentation showing your name change (please see Identification Requirements for acceptable forms of ID). You will be required to purchase another license or ID card.

 

Please Note: All name changes must be on file with Social Security before visiting a driver's license office. It takes at least 24 hours for changes to be processed with Social Security.
