CO Motor Vehicle Record Security and Alerts

With current security measures in effect, it is unlikely someone else could obtain an instruction permit, driver's license, or identification card using your personal identifying information. If you have reason to believe that someone else has unlawfully obtained a Colorado document using your personal information, contact the Investigations Unit at 303-205-8383.

Records are protected by federal and state privacy laws and are not accessible for credit purposes. Placing an alert on your record or changing your personal identification number (PIN) will not stop or prevent credit fraud.
