Colorado is in partnership with the Donor Awareness Council to increase public awareness of organ donation. It has been possible for many years to become registered as an organ donor at the same time that you are renewing your driver's license or ID card. Colorado has been very successful with this program and currently leads the nation in providing names for the organ donor registry as well as educating the public with this useful information. |
If you do not wish to become a registered organ donor at the time you renew your license but wish to contribute to this cause, youmay instead offer a donation. Funds associated with donor awareness are used for public education. Please note, however, that all Driver's License employees are prohibited from giving personal opinions regarding organ donation or in advising any applicant about organ donation.
