VIN Inspections

Out of State Vehicles:

Form DR 2395  must be filled out for vehicles that were either:

  • Purchased in another state and are being registered in Colorado or
  • Vehicles that need Colorado plates but were previously registered in another state.

VIN Inspection:

Any licensed Colorado auto dealer or any of the Air Care Colorado emissions stations can provide you with a VIN inspection, and county motor vehicle offices at their discretion.

 

Certified VIN Inspection:

You must make an appointment for a Colorado law enforcement officer or Colorado State Patrol to do a certified VIN inspection.

Cost:

Air Care Colorado charges $15.00 per VIN verification.

Costs vary for dealers and diesel testing facilities.
